For hiking enthusiasts, follow the path along the river to Minerve, one of France’s most beautiful villages, perched on its rocky promontory and surrounded by the Cesse and Brian gorges. It’s a must for those wishing to combine natural and historical discoveries.

The site is also perfect for family outings, waterside picnics and supervised swimming in summer.
Fishing in the Cesse river
Our riverside campsite close to the Canal du Midi is certified by the Fédération Nationale de la Pêche, making it a privileged location for fishing enthusiasts. On site, you’ll find a shelter with sink and fridge for bait, tackle racks, and the possibility of borrowing fishing tackle. Settle down on the banks of the Cesse for a quiet fishing trip in a lush green setting.
The Cesse, which meanders through the picturesque landscapes of the Aude, is classified in 1ʳᵉ category, offering crystal-clear waters ideal for trout fishing, particularly from Ferrals-les-Montagnes to Minerve. Beyond, up to its mouth, the river is classified in 2ᵉ category, where the waters are home to an impressive diversity of fish.
For those with even bigger ambitions, the famous carp and catfish await you in the Canal du Midi, just 4 kilometers from the campsite, and the Aude, 6 kilometers away, also offers excellent fishing opportunities.Don’t forget: the first catch may well alert the other fish to your presence. Supervised swimming area
During July and August, a supervised swimming area is set up at the leisure center. Families can enjoy the water in complete safety.
It’s a real plus for those who want to avoid the crowds at the beach, but still enjoy a refreshing break with their feet in the river, and you’ll be charmed by the waterfalls and bathing spots along the Cesse.
One of the most enchanting sites is undoubtedly the “Chaussée des Gours“, where the natural pools formed by the limestone rocks invite you to take a refreshing dip in the clear, invigorating water.
